140 Students from 13 Countries Participate in UMN Sustainability Immersion Program 2026

Tangerang (20/06/2026) – A total of 140 students from 13 countries across Asia and Europe participated in the UMN Sustainability Immersion Program (SIP) 2026, held offline at the Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) campus. Carrying the theme of sustainability, this program featured a series of academic activities, cultural exchanges, and cross-country collaborations to broaden the participants’ global perspectives.

In line with the chosen theme, SIP 2026 is part of UMN’s commitment to implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This commitment also led UMN to achieve a world ranking of 601–800 in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2026, while also providing a space for students from various countries to learn, collaborate, and exchange cultures.

“I am delighted that this program has received support from UMN’s university partners and involves students from each institution. SIP 2026 is one of our commitments to affirm ‘education beyond borders,’ which means providing opportunities for students to learn about cross-cultural perspectives, collaborate, and work together in finding solutions to the various challenges we currently face in the world,” welcomed UMN Rector, Dr. Andrey Andoko, at the opening of UMN SIP 2026.

For Andrey, the sustainability theme does not merely teach students about environmental issues. More than that, sustainability serves as a means for students to build resilience, foster collaborative mindsets, and encourage inclusive economic growth for a sustainable future.

“For me, this theme also represents UMN’s commitment to implementing sustainability principles. Not only through international programs but also in educational activities, research, community service, and campus governance. It is hoped that through this program, UMN can have an impact not only on the academic community but also on the wider community,” Andrey added.

Andrey hopes that the students involved in the UMN SIP 2026 program will actively participate in discussions, share ideas, and build cross-cultural and cross-country friendships. It is also hoped that through this activity, students will gain learning experiences that have a long-term impact.

The participants involved in the Sustainability Immersion Program (SIP) 2026 are students from 28 UMN international partner universities, including:

• Italy: University of Florence
• Cambodia: Acleda University of Business & Cambodia University of Technology and Science
• Kazakhstan: Almaty Management University
• South Korea: CHA University
• Malaysia: Open University Malaysia, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), University of Cyberjaya, & University of Malaya
• Palestine: Al-Quds University
• Philippines: Far Eastern University, LPU Laguna, LPU Manila, Mapúa University, MMCL, Sorsogon State University, University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos
• Singapore: National University of Singapore
• Turkey: Anadolu University & İstinye University
• United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi University & United Arab Emirates University
• Uzbekistan: Millat Umidi University

The UMN SIP 2026 activities will be held over one week, and students will participate in various learning sessions and practice at the UMN Campus. In addition, the participants will also take part in various other activities, such as community outreach focused on sustainability implementation, as well as learning about Indonesian culture.

Through UMN SIP 2026, participants are expected not only to gain academic and cultural experiences but also to build international networks, broaden global perspectives, and establish collaborations that can make real contributions to sustainable development in the future.
