A Concrete Step Towards a Sustainable Campus: UMN Earns Greenship Net Zero Ready Certification
October 18, 2025Creating an inclusive and equitable campus environment requires clear institutional structures, defined responsibilities, and continuous initiatives. At Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN), policies, programs, and training related to diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI), and human rights are implemented through dedicated institutional units, including the Diversity and Equality Committee, the Human Resource Development Bureau for staff, and the Student Affairs Office for students. These units coordinate policies, capacity-building programs, and awareness initiatives to ensure that principles of inclusivity, equal opportunity, and respect for human rights are embedded in both staff management and student development across the university.

For university staff, the Human Resource Development Bureau is responsible for implementing and monitoring DEI-related initiatives. The bureau ensures that institutional policies and practices promote fairness, inclusivity, and respect for human rights across the workplace.
- The Operational HR Section (Legal) oversees the implementation and compliance of institutional policies related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and human rights.
- The HR Development Section plans and implements programs and training initiatives that promote inclusive practices within the university community.
Training related to diversity, inclusion, and respectful workplace behavior is provided to employees during the onboarding process for new staff, ensuring early awareness and understanding of the university’s commitment to equality and human rights. These principles are reinforced through the university’s Code of Conduct (Kode Etik) and institutional policies on inclusivity, which guide professional behavior and decision-making across the university.
Relevant policies include Code of Conduct / Employment Regulations and Inclusiveness policy. These policies emphasize equal treatment and prohibit discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, or other personal characteristics, ensuring equal access to education, employment, and campus opportunities.

For students, initiatives related to diversity, inclusion, and human rights are coordinated through the Student Affairs Office (Kemahasiswaan). This office organizes student development programs, activities, and guidance that promote mutual respect, inclusivity, and equal participation among students from diverse backgrounds.
Through the collaboration of these institutional units, UMN ensures that policies, programs, and training related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and human rights are effectively implemented across both staff management and student life, fostering a supportive and equitable campus environment.
