Tangerang, (December 9, 2026) – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN), together with Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), Philippines, and Tra Vinh University, Vietnam, has collaborated on the International Business Case Competition (IBCC). The competition has been held since October 13, 2025, from the preliminary rounds to the grand final, which was held in a hybrid format at the UMN campus.
IBCC is a competition initiated by UMN students together with the UMN International Office. This activity not only encourages collaboration among universities but also improves students’ ability to address global challenges and prepares them to think strategically and critically.
“This activity is interesting and has many benefits, including innovation, collaboration, and strategic thinking. IBCC is not just a competition; more than that, this event opens up opportunities for students to exchange perspectives from different countries,” Dr. Andrey Andoko, UMN Rector, said at the opening of the IBCC Grand Final, said.
Andrey also stated that this event could be one way to develop a sustainable future and remain relevant to existing global challenges. For Andrey, international competitions perfectly illustrate that collaboration can be done well without national boundaries.
“I hope participants can hone their analytical thinking and confidence, and use this opportunity to learn from one another. Hopefully, students can push the limits and gain new knowledge,” Andrey concluded.

During the one-day event, students not only had the opportunity to present the findings of their case studies but also to provide sustainable solutions through the People, Planet, and Profit (3P) framework. These case studies were also expected to present solutions that support various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The event concluded with presentations from each group and the announcement of the IBCC competition winners:
1st Runner Up from The Innosolver group, SLSU
2nd Runner Up from the Cuhati group, TVU
Nominee for The Most Innovative Strategy from the Regent Strategy group, UMN
Nominee for The Best Presenter from the Entreprenerds group, UMN
“I myself was interested in participating in IBCC because I wanted to gain experience, not only that, but also to hone my strategic thinking, teamwork, and cross-cultural collaboration skills, considering that this competition is international,” Jennifer Claudia Angelique, an accounting student at UMN who was part of IBCC 2025, said.
Jennifer is a member of the Regent Strategy group, which was nominated for Most Innovative Strategy. She expressed her joy and pride in participating and receiving the nomination. For her, this has been a valuable experience for her and her friends.
“In completing the case study, our team tried first to understand the case, starting from the main problems, data, and misinformation, so that we could provide the best solution that could be implemented. After getting an overview, we divided the roles within the team and held a final discussion,” Jennifer said.
During IBCC, Jennifer herself expressed the challenges she faced, including communication. She and her team had to adjust and get used to semi-online communication. In addition, team cohesiveness was a challenge for Jennifer due to differences of opinion over each case.
The IBCC program is expected to provide valuable insights and equip students with new knowledge that was previously unavailable. It also offers students cross-cultural experiences.
