Tangerang, (13/11/2025) – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) and the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs are once again holding a Multimedia Training Program for Islamic boarding school students. This year, there are 60 participants enrolled in the multimedia training program. The training will be held for one month, with the output being that participants will develop various digital innovations.
Currently, technological developments are increasingly rapid and massive. Technological developments not only foster various innovations but also bring new disruptions. The multimedia training program for Islamic boarding school students is UMN’s commitment to continue providing quality education for the future of Indonesia’s young generation. This training is aimed at continuing to train and develop the digital skills of Islamic boarding school students.
“It is a pleasure for UMN to collaborate in providing this training again. UMN is a pioneer in organizing multimedia training for Islamic boarding schools in 2023 and is the only organizer of this program. This year, we are expanding this program to several campuses under the guidance of the State Islamic University. It is hoped that UMN can continue to collaborate in organizing other programs,” said Dr. Hj. Siti Maria Ulfa, S.Pd.I., M.S.I., as Chair of the Religious Higher Education Scholarship Working Team at the opening of the training event.
Siti emphasized that this activity is important and beneficial for students, given the rapid advancement of technology. It is hoped that students who participate in this program will have an impact and generate new ideas, and be able to implement technology well, from content, videography, branding, to programming.
“It is a pleasure that UMN has been entrusted to provide this training. This activity is certainly useful for the future and supports the digital economy, considering that everything is digital now. This is a valuable opportunity for you to improve your digitalization skills, which can later be used and have an impact on other students as well,” Dr. Andrey Andoko, UMN Rector, said.
Andrey emphasized that creating and producing positive content can provide credible new knowledge amid the current flood of disinformation. In addition, Andrey also gave tips to the students on how to create interactive content that can attract more audiences and, of course, become a profession for the students.
“Through this activity, I hope that the students can become self-entrepreneurs, as we emphasize to UMN students, especially those in the Faculty of Business and the Faculty of Communications. By honing these skills, you will be able to work independently and produce good things to attract more young people,” Andrey added.
Andrey hopes that this activity will encourage more young people to hone their digital skills and be ready to face the challenges of rapid change, one of which is Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. It is not only the duty of universities to continue educating students to be digitally literate, but also the duty of all young people.
