UMN Student Achieves Second Place at the 2024 Asian Karate Federation Championship
October 21, 2024Acknowledging the need to embed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across all aspects of campus life, we also strive to assess how well our students understand these key sustainability principles. Evaluating their sustainability literacy allows us to ensure that students not only gain awareness of the SDGs but also integrate them into their learning, research, and everyday practices.
To assess students’ understanding of sustainability, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) developed a survey focused on their awareness of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This tool measures not only students’ knowledge but also their engagement and ability to apply sustainable practices in everyday life. Delivered through UMN’s own student app, UNION, the survey is easily accessible, allowing students to quickly take the quiz and reflect on their sustainability knowledge. With this ease of access, UMN hopes to encourage more active participation and motivate students to deepen their understanding of these global goals.

Percentage Distribution of Students’ Knowledge and Literacy on SDGs (2024)
These insights provide UMN with a clear direction for future educational efforts. By strengthening the focus on core concepts like poverty alleviation and improving students’ overall literacy on the SDGs, the university hopes to better prepare its students to become informed and active contributors to global sustainability. This initiative reflects UMN’s commitment to fostering a generation equipped to take meaningful action toward a sustainable future.
