The campus is designed to be easily accessible for people with disabilities, ensuring they have the necessary support to learn and participate fully alongside their peers. Committed to Accessible Facilities for People with Disabilities

(Doc. UMN)
At UMN, inclusivity is one of our core values that ensures equal access for everyone. We are committed to creating an accessible environment for all individuals, including those with disabilities. In accordance with Ministry Regulation Number 30/PRT/M/2006, the “Technical Guidelines for Facilities and Accessibility,” UMN offers a variety of services and facilities designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities. These include guide blocks for the visually impaired, Braille buttons in all lifts, wheelchair-accessible ramps at building entrances and between buildings, special toilets on each floor, and designated parking spaces for disability vehicles. Our goal is to provide a campus that is both welcoming and accessible to all.

As part of the university’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, all lifts are equipped with Braille buttons for visually impaired individuals, including Braille indicators for floor numbers and direction controls (up and down). Additionally, door hold features are installed to provide extra time for people with disabilities to safely exit the lift while the door remains open. This facility reflects the university’s practical efforts to create an accessible environment, guided by its Diversity and Equality Committee, which advises and implements inclusive policies and programs on campus to ensure equal access for all members of the community.
