Dili (October 30, 2025) — Universitas Multimedia Nusantara continues to demonstrate its commitment to realizing its vision and mission of internationalization, expanding the scope of cooperation, and attracting more international students who wish to study at UMN. As part of its efforts to achieve these goals, UMN participated in the 2025 Indonesian Higher Education Fair, held from October 28 to 30, 2025, at the Indonesian Cultural Center in Dili, Timor-Leste.
The opening ceremony was attended and opened by the Timor Leste Minister of Youth, Sports, Arts, and Culture, Nélio Isaac Sarmento; the Indonesian Ambassador to Timor Leste, Okto Dorinus Manik; the Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Khairul Munadi, S.T., M.Eng.; and the Indonesian Education and Culture Attaché to Timor Leste, Prof. Dr. Tasrifin Tahara, M.Si.
UMN’s participation in this event aimed to introduce higher education in Indonesia to prospective international students, particularly those in Timor-Leste. Through this event, UMN introduced its leading faculties, including the faculties of Business, Communication Sciences, Engineering and Informatics, and Arts and Design. These four faculties are attractive to international students because they offer curricula relevant to global industry needs, modern learning facilities, and support from experienced lecturers in their respective fields.
In addition to introducing academic programs, UMN also highlighted various campus advantages, including an inclusive learning environment, student exchange programs, and international internship opportunities that have established partnerships with numerous industry partners both domestically and abroad. UMN’s achievements, which have been recorded in the QS Rank Asia and Times Higher Education (THE), confirm the quality of its education and international reputation.

“Through our participation in this exhibition, we want to show that UMN is ready to be the first choice for prospective international students seeking quality higher education in Indonesia. We are committed to providing a learning experience that focuses not only on academics but also on character development and global skills,” Ni Putu Armiwiryanti, Professional Business Consultant (EC Inter & UOL), said.
UMN’s involvement in this exhibition also opens up opportunities for UMN to interact directly with prospective students and parents, explaining in more detail about academic excellence, campus life, and various career opportunities that can be obtained after graduating from UMN. Through a personal and informative approach, the UMN team strives to provide a real picture of the learning experience in a modern and international standard campus environment.
“We see a very high level of enthusiasm from students in Timor Leste to pursue higher education abroad. Many prospective students are interested in UMN’s flagship programs and modern campus facilities that support technology-based learning. This motivates us to continue expanding UMN’s international reach to various countries,” Claudia Nicolla Nasution, Education Consultant for International Students, said
Through its participation in the 2025 Indonesia Higher Education Fair, UMN hopes to strengthen its role as an internationally recognized university that contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesian higher education on the global stage.
