Skystar Ventures Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) has successfully launched 39 student-created startups through an intensive business incubation program. After undergoing a series of mentoring activities, these startups showcased their innovations during Demo Day from Wednesday (04/06/2025) to Thursday (05/06/2025) in the lobby of Building B at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara.
This event marked the culmination of six months of nurturing students’ entrepreneurial potential. Held over two days, the event attracted 785 visitors, including students, faculty members, professionals, and external parties from Multimedia Nusantara University.
A total of 151 students and alums actively participated in these 39 startups, representing six academic programs at Multimedia Nusantara University. The participating programs include Film and Animation, Visual Communication Design, Information Systems, Computer Science, Management, and Communication Studies.
The incubated startups focused on various business sectors. These sectors include digital business, food and beverages, manufacturing and applied technology, services, tourism and trade, the creative industry, and arts and culture. This diversity reflects students’ adaptation to market needs and innovation potential across various fields.
Out of the total 39 businesses, 36 are in the ideation stage. This stage focuses on developing mature and executable business ideas. Meanwhile, the remaining three businesses have entered the prototyping stage. This stage is oriented toward product development and designing strategies for launch. The three startups are Akksi, Saraya, and TwoButtons.
Akksi is an all-in-one event organizing platform that provides an application to streamline all event activities, from pre-event to post-event. Saraya is a financial education platform application specifically designed to help women-owned Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia manage their finances more effectively. Meanwhile, TwoButtons is a company that provides official merchandise for intellectual property (IP) such as films and books.
During Demo Day, startup presentations were evaluated by a panel of experienced mentors. On the first day, Kelvin Wahjudi, Investment at Skystar Capital, and William Eka, Former Strategic Partnership at JULO, conducted the evaluation. Meanwhile, on the second day, Vincent Kusuma, Founder of Vilo Gelato, and Rinaldi Dharma Utama, Founder of Se’Indonesia, were present. The presence of these professionals provided valuable insights and feedback for the young talents.
The Skystar Ventures incubation program itself is an intensive program designed to provide comprehensive support, guidance, and assistance needed for businesses to grow at every stage. The entire program is facilitated with a series of supporting activities, including workshops, mentoring sessions with experts, and other facilities to support the development of startups.
“Supporting the sustainability of startups and businesses is the main focus of the Skystar Ventures program at this time. We are aware that building a business is a long process and journey, so the presence of an incubator will serve as a support system for young entrepreneurs to continue innovating and developing their businesses,” said Cinthya Tania, Vice Manager of Skystar Ventures.
This annual incubation program is open to active students and alumni of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara with innovative business ideas.
