Jakarta – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) recently held a discussion with PT Mayora Indah Tbk on Thursday, June 12, 2025. The discussion focused on recruitment, collaboration, and the extension of the Memorandum of Agreement, as well as sustainability collaboration between UMN and PT Mayora Indah Tbk.
PT Mayora Indah Tbk is one of the leading food and beverage manufacturers. Established in 1977, it has produced various food and beverage brands that are distributed throughout Indonesia and exported to numerous countries.
“Our goal is to establish collaboration. Previously, we had already conducted recruitment collaboration, but today we are adding sustainability-related collaboration. This collaboration will also be open to four faculties at UMN,” Dr. Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F, CSA., UMN Vice Rector for Student Affairs, said.
Ika also mentioned that within the past six months, 90% of UMN graduates have been absorbed into the industry. This presents a great opportunity for UMN to collaborate with PT Mayora Indah Tbk in various areas such as career development programs, internships, campus hiring, and more.
“We are also launching a new curriculum matching program, which serves as a bridge between UMN and the industry. In the future, PT Mayora Indah Tbk can provide modules directly to students, and students will be guided to join PT Mayora Indah Tbk afterwards,” Ika added.
The discussion continued with a discussion on sustainability programs that UMN can collaborate on with PT Mayora Indah Tbk. Maria Advenita Gita Elmada, S.I.Kom., M.Si., as the Manager of the UMN Sustainability Center, noted that sustainability is currently a focus in both education and industry.
“UMN is now integrating two important aspects into its curriculum: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and, most recently, sustainability. At UMN, we are not only focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but we also aim to equip UMN students with these skills for their future needs,” said Maria.
According to Maria, the collaboration with PT Mayora Indah Tbk is a great opportunity. Maria also mentioned that the sustainable practices implemented in the industry align with those at the university, enabling many joint initiatives. This collaboration will support SDG Goal 17, “Partnerships for the Goals.”
“There are many things that UMN and PT Mayora Indah Tbk can collaborate on, such as guest lectures for students, so that students can see how the industry implements sustainability governance. We are also very open if PT Mayora Indah Tbk wants to collaborate on academic research,” Maria added.
Frida Surjawinata Susilo, Human Resources Business Partner, also stated during the discussion that quite a number of UMN alums work at PT Mayora Indah Tbk, and UMN itself has become a preferred channel for PT Mayora Indah Tbk. In line with this, Frida expressed interest in various collaborations that can be undertaken with UMN.
“Regarding sustainability, we have already done many things, but practical on-site initiatives such as waste management, greening, and others. From the corporate communication perspective, we are lacking in education, and this is one area that needs to be integrated. Education and teaching are very appealing for PT Mayora Indah Tbk, so from here we can directly teach students about sustainability in the industry,” Frida said.
This collaboration is quite appealing to Frida, who hopes it can be mutually beneficial. Besides meeting industry needs, this collaboration is expected to produce UMN graduates who are environmentally and socially conscious. The collaboration between UMN and PT Mayora Indah Tbk supports several key points in the Sustainable Development Goals. Some of these include SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
