Tangerang – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) has just received the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025. This is the first time UMN has been ranked by Times Higher Education (THE). In the THE Impact Ranking, UMN achieved a ranking of 801–1000 in the World Rank. This demonstrates UMN’s commitment and support for contributing to global sustainability.
THE Impact is a global ranking conducted by Times Higher Education, an international organization focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for higher education institutions, particularly universities. In this ranking, UMN secured a position in the 201–300 range for SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and 201–300 for SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
“This achievement signifies that UMN is committed to building a better and more sustainable world. From the beginning, UMN was established as an environmentally friendly campus, so this is not new for UMN, but now it must be aligned with the SDGs. There are still many SDGs that will be reviewed to identify UMN’s strengths and how they can be implemented in various academic and non-academic activities,” Dr. Andrey Andoko, UMN Rector, said.
Of course, this process presents various challenges for UMN, one of which is raising awareness among faculty, staff, and students. Andrey plans to organize different activities to enhance awareness among faculty, staff, and students.
“This achievement is proof that UMN is participating in realizing the SDGs. I hope that not only UMN but all educational institutions will contribute to the environment for a better and more comfortable future,” Andrey added.
Prof. Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalization, also expressed her pride in UMN’s achievement in THE Impact Ranking. For Friska, UMN’s involvement in global rankings can enhance UMN’s reputation globally and elevate it to world-class rankings.
“Going forward, we aim to integrate all plans, strategies, and curriculum integration into sustainability, not just focusing on Artificial Intelligence. This is to produce graduates who are not only ready for global challenges but also possess green skills and green jobs, enabling UMN to make a positive impact on society,” Friska said.
Friska also stated that UMN already has numerous academic and non-academic activities focused on the SDGs, and she hopes that existing data can be integrated more effectively and clearly in the future. Additionally, Friska’s strategy includes enhancing international collaboration opportunities such as student exchanges, research, and more.
“I hope UMN can become even better and secure various rankings in the THE Impact Ranking. Not only that, I hope UMN can continue to climb higher in global rankings. I hope that by integrating sustainability into learning and activities at UMN, it can also enhance UMN’s achievements to become a world-class university,” Friska concluded.
