Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) received a special invitation from the Banten Provincial Tourism Office to participate in the peak event of the Exciting Banten Festival 2026, which carried the spirit of “Ayo Ke Banten” (Let’s Go to Banten), held on June 27–28, 2026, at Palem Cibeureum 1 Beach, Anyer, Cinangka District, Serang Regency. This festival served as a meeting space for the tourism sector, creative economy, public services, and MSME empowerment for the Banten community.
Together with PT Surveyor Indonesia, UMN was given the opportunity to share its experience in running the Pesisir Berdaya Lestari (Empowered Sustainable Coastal) program, a sustainability initiative carried out in collaboration with the KABL Foundation in Sukarame Tourism Village, Carita, Pandeglang.

The program encompasses three main pillars that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): economic strengthening through training and product packaging for MSMEs (SDG 1 No Poverty and SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth), social strengthening through clean water infrastructure and hygiene education at SDN Sukarame 02 (SDG 6 Clean Water and Sanitation), and environmental conservation through coral reef and seagrass bed conservation at Ketapang Beach (SDG 14 Life Below Water).
The cross-sector collaboration that serves as the foundation of this program also reflects the spirit of SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals. This sharing session became an opportunity for UMN to demonstrate how collaboration between academia, corporations, and communities can generate real and sustainable impact for coastal communities.

In addition to the sharing session, UMN also presented a showcase of MSME products from Sukarame Village as part of the festival series. These products, which had undergone packaging assistance and brand image strengthening processes, were displayed as concrete evidence of the mentoring outcomes carried out together with program partners.
The Head of the Banten Provincial Tourism Office, Eli Susiyanti, expressed her appreciation for the MSME mentoring program run by UMN and PT Surveyor Indonesia in Sukarame Village. She conveyed her hope that this type of mentoring model could be expanded to reach other MSME potential scattered across various regions of Banten Province, so that more local business actors could benefit from it.

On the second day of the festival, the UMN booth also received a visit from the Governor of Banten, Andra Soni. This visit served as a form of direct support from the Banten Provincial Government for the Pesisir Berdaya Lestari program, while also reaffirming the hope that this collaboration model can be disseminated and replicated in other areas within Banten Province.
On the same occasion, UMN and PT Surveyor Indonesia were also given space to share their experiences in running this activity with all festival participants, while also inviting various parties present to open up new collaborative opportunities. This invitation was extended as a form of shared commitment to expanding the partnership network for sustainable development in Banten’s coastal areas.

Participation in the Exciting Banten Festival 2026 reaffirms UMN’s position as an academic partner actively contributing to the sustainability ecosystem in Banten Province. Through cross-sector collaboration with local government and corporations, UMN is committed to continuing to strengthen the role of higher education in supporting the development of empowered and sustainable coastal communities.
