“Speak Up with Confidence!” UMN Hosts Public Speaking Workshop with Yosi Mokalu

Tangerang, 13 November 2024 – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN), has once again making a breakthrough by organizing an inspiring workshop “Menguasai Seni Berbicara Dengan Percaya Diri” (Mastering the Art of Confident Public Speaking), with Yosi Mokalu as the member of comedy music group ProjecT Pop known well with the a humorous and inspiring style! The event, held at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, successfully attracted many participants, including UMN students as well as students from SMA Global Mandiri Cibubur. This workshop was also part of UMN’s Community Service Program (PKM), which aims to create a positive impact on the development of community skills, particularly in the field of communication.

The event was officially opened by Dewi Warhamni, M.I.Kom., as the Coordinator of Public Speaking and Presentation Skills at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN), who also served as the Chair of the Organizing Committee, who says the importance of public speaking skills as a fundamental asset in both academic and professional settings. Dewi encourages the audience to make the most of this opportunity to build confidence and communicate ideas effectively.

This event has gotten fun with the creative performance from UMN students who took the Public Speaking and Presentation Skill class. The performances didn’t just liven up the atmosphere, while also demonstrating the development of communication skills that had been honed in class.

In the main session, Yosi Mokalu shared a lot of practice with how to speak confidently. Yosi encouraged participants to transform fear into confidence. With his typical relaxed and humorous style, Yosi Mokalu provided practical guidance on overcoming nervousness when speaking in public. The session became even more engaging with an interactive question and answer, where participants had the opportunity to ask Yosi questions directly.

“Speak Up With Confidence!” The workshop brought a strong message that public speaking skill is very much important for the younger generation, both for the academic and professional world. With that, it is hoped that participants will leave with renewed confidence and a strong motivation to continue honing their speaking skills.
