This Is the Development of Tower III UMN

Officially started on Monday (18/1), the construction of Tower III has reached the 3rd floor of a total of 18 floors. The plan, topping off the building that carries the theme of energy saving will be implemented in early January 2017.

After the New Media Tower (the second building of Multimedia Nusantara University) which was inaugurated in 2012, UMN will again have a third new lecture building. Later, the building with a total height of 80 meters will accommodate teaching and learning activities that can accommodate more than 5,000 students.

Various facilities can be enjoyed by students such as laboratories for the study programs Physical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Architecture; Lecture Theater that can accommodate up to 500 people; and indoor sports facilities such as basketball courts, futsal, and badminton.

Following in the footsteps of the New Media Tower, Tower III also uses double skins that allow to control the intensity of light and heat of the sun entering the room so that the room is quite cold and bright.

“All the architecture in Tower III supports the use of energy to be more efficient. Tower III has many open spaces that use natural air vents that are still cool. Thus, the building becomes quite comfortable to use for lectures and work. The use of air conditioning can also be reduced so that the energy used to cool the room can be reduced a lot,” explained Andrey Andoko, Vice Rector of UMN during the opening ceremony in January.

To date, construction has reached 20% of the third floor of eighteen floors. Sudarman Sutanto as Umn Building Manager said that the construction went smoothly and it is expected that the skinning building as a whole was implemented in April 2017 so that it can be completed and inaugurated in May – June 2017.
